Friends of Middlestown School (FoMS)
Who are we?
If you have a child attending Middlestown Primary Academy, you are automatically a member of FOMS and your voice counts! FOMS is a mixture of parents who work together for the benefit of Middlestown School. Some parents work part-time and some parents work full-time; NONE of us are specialists in fundraising.
Our aims are to:
- Raise much-appreciated funds for the school
- Organise a range of fun and social activities
- Involve the whole school community
Over the years FOMS have been very fortunate with the excellent support it has received from both parents and members of the school staff, but it is always looking for new ideas and help with the planning and running of events throughout the year.
Upcoming Events
Events in the Summer term 2022
Middlestown Village Gala – Saturday 14th May 2022
At the Gala, FOMs will be holding a ‘Star Jar’ stall:
Summer Fayre – Date TBC
Film Night for Years 1-6 – Date TBC
What happens to the funds raised?
The funds raised are used to buy important additional resources for the school and children, which are not available within the standard school budget. These resources significantly enhance our children’s school experience. Some of the funds raised have gone towards whole school pantomime and annual class trips; atlases and dictionaries; and up to date ICT equipment.
How is FOMS organised?
It has an elected Committee who run the FOMS meetings and coordinates all FOMS organised events. Meetings are held twice a term and are open to ALL members so we warmly encourage you to attend. We are also working on getting FOMS registered as a charity. We just need you to come and help plan and organised fun events like the discos, film nights and fayres.
These individual events and activities are then organised by a much wider group of FOMS helpers and other willing members whose support is vital and very much appreciated.
If you would like to get involved please have a look at our FACEBOOK page: FOMS123 or contact the School Office – 01924 278290.
