Virtual Classroom

In EYFS, we use SeeSaw as our virtual classroom. We use this app to share learning, send out messages and hopefully keep you informed about all that we are learning. This app allows you to be able to share home learning and achievements with us in school so that school and home can work together to provide the best start to your child’s educational journey. Please ensure that you are logged on to this and check it regularly. If you require a new login please email admin@middlestown.accordmat.org

Our Learning in Upper Foundation

EYFS Long Term Overview

Shadow Exploration in Foundation

Foundation loved exploring shadows!

They carefully traced the outlines of the animals and then coloured them in; fantastic concentration!

EYFS Rainbow Day

Thank you so much to all the parents and staff for their support with our annual EYFS Rainbow Day fundraiser!

We raised an outstanding £1097.10 through the event, bun sale and raffle, which will hugely benefit the children within the unit.

THANK YOU!

Pancake Making!

Foundation learned all about Shrove Tuesday and made pancakes before Lent!

They enjoyed making and flipping the pancakes before tasting them with different toppings.

Delicious!

Winter Welly Walk

Upper Foundation had a wonderful ‘welly walk’ around our school grounds, looking for signs of winter!

Police Visit

Foundation recently enjoyed a visit from the local police force, with PC Firth talking about his job and how he helps people in the community!

Thank you to West Yorkshire Police for visiting us and inspiring our children!

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service Visit!

Foundation had a visit from West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service!

We want our children to understand the role of significant professions within our local community and have authentic experiences that bring their learning to life.

They asked insightful questions and loved the visit!

EYFS Love to Read

At Middlestown, we strive to develop a love of reading from the moment the children start school. Our curriculum is planned around engaging and high quality texts. Here are some of the texts which we use throughout the year.

The Accord Multi Academy Trust is an educational charity established in September 2016 that is currently made up of four academies who were the founding members of the Trust. In September 2016 Horbury Academy and Ossett Academy & Sixth Form College came together, moving away from their stand-alone Trust status and were joined in December 2016 by Horbury Primary Academy and Middlestown Primary Academy.

The overarching vision for the Trust is to work in one ‘Accord – celebrating the differences of each academy through strong collaboration in order to inspire all members of our learning community to be the best that they can be.
